Saw a Ferrari today and thought it was a Mclaren. The new Roma looks like an Aston Marton. Ferrari seems to have lost any design direction that ties them together or just says ‘Ferrari’.

Trivia: this isn’t the only time Ferrari has done a major refresh twice on the same basic body.  One other instance is the Testarossa / 512TR / F512M, spanning 13 years.  The 458 is getting close at 11 years.

355 was great but Ferrari still had something to prove. And for some reason the 355 looks like a 2nd gen MR2 now that I think about it.

That is because it is true... and the only saving grace is ROMA.

I despite not having a V12, if I had cubic dollars to spend... I would get Roma over the mid-engined V8 cars, or the front-engined V12 cars.

I absolutely agree with you and thin k about that at least once a week. The 458 Italia is so incredibly beautiful, and especially when it came it, that headlight treatment and some of the body creases were something really special. Now that design language is pretty farmiliar across other brands as well.

I really like how the front bottom side is pinched exactly right, it feels compact after seeing this sad  longnosed monstrosity you posted.
